This life is a test for all the humans to recognise and obey the Almighty God. Every moment is a test. Few may be tested by wealth, poverty, health problems, death of the near and dear, loss of property, getting a good grade to enter a boarding school, college or university and so many things. You cannot find an individual who is not undergoing this test of this life which is full of struggle.
Like I mentioned above, it’s how you view things. I’ve seen such contrasts myself. I have met people who are poor and go through the paycheck through paycheck struggle and more but still are happy people. I also knew a very rich man, but he was anything but happy. He had to be taken to a detox center because he almost drank himself to death. He could get anything he wanted but it wasn’t enough. Yet, if you saw things from the outside, you would probably think their roles were reversed.
I also know many whiners and complainers. I used to be that way, but l stopped. I think the more you complain, the more you bring misery to your life. Why? Well think about it. Do complainers actually go out there and do something about it? No. If you are whining because you want a better job, why aren’t you out there looking for one? etc, etc. I don’t think life just simply hates some of us and throws them into misery. We get into that hole ourselves with our attitudes. We can get ourselves out. The kicker is this one…are people ready to stop complaining? That’s the question.
And yes, there are situations beyond our control sometimes. Cancer, car accidents that weren’t our fault, etc. But again, it goes with attitude. Are you going to sit back and complain and have a victim mentality or are you actively going to put your energy into getting better? It’s all about our choices. If we put our best efforts, we will always be better off than we were. At the very least you can learn that your happiness comes from within you, not any circumstance or material thing and that is how I think there are genuinely happy people that are in not so great circumstances and terribly unhappy people that seem to have everything.
