Words From the Bottom of My Heart for the Sake of Our Parentsmotherson_edited
Be Kind to Your Parents Before it is Too Late!
When parents reach old age they really become in need of real love, care, compassion, mercy, and sympathy which they used to show us when we were young. It is very nice to remember them with a flower or bouquet of flowers, but really this does not make up for the needs I have just mentioned above.
… Whom should we love more? Whom should we become always busy thinking of? Is it the ones who love you or pretend to love just for a short time, then go away and leave you behind, or the ones who have always been there taking special care for you – even before you come to life –, loving you, sacrificing for you and cannot abandon you, and shall always be there for you?
As parents are receiving their gift they are smiling to you, but some of them are hurted and feel bitterness yet they hide it from you simply because they love you much and love seeing you so much happy. So many of them are not happy, they’re smiling just to show you they are happy. The Problem is that some are somehow selfish and not enough faithful to their parents as their main concern and attention is to be happy and enjoy their life, and after that if they still have some spare time they can spend with parents.
Actually our parents at this age need us to be as much close to them as they can. It is the truth that we owe a lot to our parents, and to be servants to our parents at this stage of life is not even enough to meet their favours. This is why Qur’an says:
{And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them reach old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them, rather speak to them a generous word. And lower unto them the wing of submission out of mercy, and say: “My Lord! Bestow Your Mercy on them as they cherished me when I was young.”} [Trans. of the meaning of Qur’anic verses (17:23-24)]
Also the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Woe to a person who lives long to see his/her parents, both or one of them, at old age, and fails to go to paradise (i.e., for unkindness, ingratitude or ill-treatment to them).”
Soon you shall experience how much they need you, so let your children see how kind and dutiful you are to your parents, so that they similarly treat you when you reach that old age! Also let’s try our best to pay back some of their many many favours.
May Allah grant you all long life with GOOD DEEDS! -icci.isNatural memory enhancer
