Alert is a neuro-physical condition which enables a human to assess the situation relying on its capability of faster decision making. It creates havoc if one is alert all the time. Alertness also has its prices. That comes as stress. Relax, and be alert when the need be.
Who wants to miss out on anything? Who wants to get whacked in the head before he can realise it? Who wants to get kidnapped in a bustling crowd?
It’s not as if you have to keep your eyeballs bulging out and the pinna at right angles to the plane of your temples every time. Being alert can seem very tiring, but trust me, it’s not. It just takes a little effort. Paying attention and keeping your senses alert will actually help you to memorise things better, be aware of situations without having to deal with them every time and, of course, be safe. Not only on the road, but in all walks of life. -ck
