The ball is smacked over the net falling quickly to the shinny wood flooring. I dive to the ground, reach out an arm, letting the white ball hit against my pale arms turning them bright red. I push the ball over the net and get back up on my feet ready for the next ball that comes my way. I love playing sports, especially volleyball. The excitement in the games is overwhelming, and you have to be ready at all times for a ball to come flying your way. I always try to contribute to the team so I won’t let my teammates down even if it means falling to the ground to get the ball. I believe that you should always try your best even when things are difficult.
Trying your best when things are difficult will not only make you a stronger player, but when you work hard and try your best it makes others respect for you grow. When you work hard others know that you care about what you are doing and that you are dedicated.
I have always admired Martin Luther King Jr’s ability to work hard and try his best in difficult situations. His strong voice billows deep from within in him. He preaches words of encouragement, strength and dedication. His voice rings in peoples ears. You can tell by his face that he wants everyone one that listens to be inspired and that he is trying his very best to make people understand. Though Martin Luther King was discriminated against constantly he always tried his best to create equality for African Americans. He never gave up and always tried to help. Martin Luther King had one of the most difficult situations but he stilled tried to his best to make the world a better place. He lived through constant ridicule and harassment, but he always fought for what he believed in.
Trying your best is always a great way to encourage and motivate people but it is also very helpful to yourself. The night before a huge test, stressful and panic filled. How will I ever learn all of this? I scramble through all of my notes franticly, shuffling papers and reading and rereading definitions. I try my best to learn all the information, and by the end of the night, I thought I had got it down. It was worth the extra effort and hard work because the day I got my test back I was thrilled with my score. So even when it is difficult and you think to yourself that you can’t do it, remember that you should always try you best even when things are difficult because it will pay off in the long run.
Even though you can never go back and change a time when you slacked off during practice or didn’t study enough for a test, you should always try your best in the future even when things are difficult. As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “You have to accept whatever comes and the only important thing is that you meet it with the best you have to give.” -thisibelieve.org
