There were always a lot of games to play in school, but what students didn’t really realize at the time is that these were designed as Brain Exercises that helps them gain strength in their cognitive abilities.  The good news is that these fun games can be done throughout life, and are actually recommended as exercises for the brain to keep it healthy.  There are some great exercises for the mind available in a variety of media including the internet, Nintendo games, and even just good old fashioned jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

Let’s start with the testing the memory exercises.  There are many websites that have a number of great exercises for the brain.  Let’s look at what a few of those do.

One test is a brain reflection test that basically tests how fast your brain and your reflexes work together.  The test itself is quite simple.  A rectangular box is displayed and when the start button is pushed a color appears in the box.  The objective is to click on the color as soon as it appears, and the goal is to get a score of two tenths of a second or less.  It basically works with the recognition time in the brain and the time it takes the reflexes to recognize a color has been displayed and the brain tells the finger to click on the color.  Be aware if it’s clicked too soon, it knows you are cheating!

Another interesting test is a test that works on the creative processes in the brain.  It has a variety of levels to help exercise the creative center of the brain and keep the mind active.  In this game there is a silver sphere that has to be moved to the hole, but it’s not that easy.  There are obstacles in the way that have to be moved, and there is water surrounding the hole.  The obstacles can be used to form a bridge to the hole.  So this game exercises reasoning skills and tactical skills to move the sphere and the bridges to allow the sphere to cross the water.  It’s performs special reasoning tests in addition to problem solving, attention, speed, focus, and intelligence all in one fun little exercise.  There are 25 levels to this little exercise that really gets that brain out doing some great brain aerobics!

One game that helps stretch the brain much like stretching exercises work on the various muscle groups in the body is a mathematical game that contains three pegs, several discs of various sizes that are stacked on one peg.  The objective is to move the discs from one page to another by only moving one disc at a time, and it carries the rule of not placing a larger disc on top of a smaller one.  There was a game for children very similar to this one for children that can also be used that gives provides hand coordination skills as well.  It also helps the brain in problem solving skills, focus, speed, attention, and intelligence.

A memory improvement game allows the brain to examine the person’s face, and focus on the feature such as the eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth, chin hair, ears, and forehead.  The face is presented and the person has a moment to study the face, then they start and have to put all the facial features together to create the face they were just shown.  It also helps improve memory, and because it’s time it helps speed, reaction time, focus, special reasoning, attention and problem solving skills.

Another game that helps boost the IQ is the Chess game.  This game helps with special intelligence because it exercises the brain’s ability to determine possibilities for different movements of the chess pieces and works the brains ability to strategize on possible moves further down in the game.  It helps the person’s adaptive and reasoning skills as well as reflexes and memory.

There are also math and word memory games that helps the person focus on remembering the numbers or words that were displayed in addition to helping solved equations.  Regardless of the age of the person, it’s so crucial for Brain Exercises to be done on a routine basis to stimulate the brain’s functions and decrease the degenerative processes the brain goes through during aging.Natural memory enhancer
